We made it! We have created the biggest sea of Santas in UK. Joining the hospice events is the only thing I can do for the moment, but always with the grates pleasure.
As each year, Alison Evans together with the whole crew from Thames Hospice is organizing the Santa Dash. Over 600 Santas running in the Swinley Forest brought up more then £30K in the charity box.
How does it work? Well, you register online for the 5K or 10K challenge, you pay the registration fee (also considered a donation from your side) and attend the event. All the registrants are free to raise more donations if they can through-out the charity facilities.
Alison Evans, Head of Community, Events and Corporate Fundraising from Thames Hospice, said: “We are really excited to be launching the Santa Dash 2016 and hope to make it even bigger and better this year! You’ll discover plenty of Christmas comradely whatever route you choose and know that everything you raise through sponsorship and entry fees will go directly to caring for local people this Christmas and beyond. We look forward to having some festive fun with everyone!”
Thames Hospice is also offering voluntering oportunities if you are intrested in these kind of activities. Having over 450 volunteers, there is always need for more. Anyone knows that the success of such organizations relies most of all on the help and support of the others. As a volunteer, there are lots of benefits for you too. Volunteering is a great way to meet like-minded people, have new experiences or put current skills to use and make a real difference to your community.
Hospice: put your caring personality and organisational skills to use and join our friendly team. From volunteering on the reception desk to supporting patients and their loved ones, it’s the personal touches that make it special.

Please bear in mind that you will not be acccepted if you lost a loved one in the past 2 years.
Many regards to Marcus Waldron for the photographies that he gladly donates them to the hospice on each event.
