Henley Royal Regatta established on 26th March 1839 held annually on the River Themes, more exactly by the town Henley-on-Thames, England.

One of the events is really worth going if you are around UK this time of the year. The event is considered part of the English Social Season and same as Royal Ascot, certain enclosures at the regatta have strict dress code. Henley Royal Regatta it lasts for five days, Wednesday ’till Sunday in the first weekend in July. What you should expect? Over 200 boat races, colorful blazers and copious amounts of PIMM’s (weather was stunning btw).

Wednesday and Thursday you will see crews race in the heats. The quarter finals take place on Friday, the semi-finals on Saturday and the finals will be held on Sunday. I have chosen Saturday semi-finals as I could join the evening party at the Chinawhite Enclosure while Pete Tong was playing.

During the day, the river banks was actually bursting with people wearing beige hats (however I’ve got myself a red one), enclosure badges (which act as tickets) and colorful blazers, sipping champagne and soaking up the sunshine.

If you consider attending this event then be prepared to walk, stand and spend.
